Born to Marguerite (Lopez) and Bill Phelps in La Junta, Colo., where she started her education in first grade, moving to Riverside, Calif., with her mother and sister to finish up highschool.

She and her young family moved in the mid 1970s to Puyallup, Wash., where she gained employment with the Weyerhaeuser Co., retiring with the Project Manager title in 2007, after over 30 years. Read More »
