PORTLAND — A big play on defense and another on special teams led to half of Grants Pass’ points as the seventh-ranked Cavemen cruised to a 28-7 win over Westview in a non-league football game on Friday.

Parker Howe made the first big play for Grants Pass (2-0), grabbing a one-handed interception on a pass out to the flat on the Wildcats’ opening drive and returning it to the Westview 10-yard line.
