My first car was this 1950 two-door Ford with custom body work by me with fiberglass parts. Hooded head lights and tail lights and grill enclosure. Replaced side chrome parts with Mercury parts. Headlight chrome rings from a Chevy. Shaved hood and trunk. Custom black paint. Original V8. Never could beat the Chevys and their modified engines.
Loved to cruise Hollywood Boulevard on Friday nights after football games.
It was my parents’ car and I took over the car and gave it the new look while in high school in 1957 in the Highland Park/Eagle Rock area of Southern California. The couple in the car are me and my girlfriend, who became my wife in 1965. We’ve been married 52 years.
