In 1958 I was working at the West Park Garage and Cab Company in Tracy, Calif. The 1948 Chevy was towed in with a rod out. The owner couldn’t afford to have it fixed. My boss said I could have it for $75.
I had to fix it. I had the crankshaft turned, put in new bearing and I drove it until I graduated high school in 1960.
