Grants Pass High School junior Alex Winn plays guitar while a small group of other students sing and pray while about 300 other students circled the campus for 17 minutes, chanting “Enough is enough,” “Books not Guns” and other messages protesting gun violence. A dozen police attended the event, which modeled others around the country at 10 a.m. The 17 minutes represented all the victims at the Parkland, Florida, high school mass shooting one month ago. A small group of counter demonstrators, one wrapped in a Confederate battle flag, were kept apart from the rally.
